In March of 1963, "The Pirate's Nook" nightclub on the corner of Elm & Carroll, in East Dallas opened and became the most popular show club in Dallas. The Pirates Nook offered great food, generous adult beverages, a wide-variety of musical talent featuring prominent local bands and various forms of entertainment from caricature artists to the excitement of Go-Go dance beauties, which were, back then, UNHEARD OF !
Patrons provided an interesting mix of older Dallas wealth along-side the hip younger beat of the radically changing 60‚s. An interesting time to say the least! Now, just a warm nostalgic memory from the past. Or, is it ?
Owner and operator, local Dallas businessman, William Ware, an expert in the entertainment talent field and the art of show business, has investigated the general marketplace, with interesting facts coming to the surface.
"Folks love to remember yesterday and those great days were full of good times", Ware states. "People worked hard back then and would party just as hard!" The result was fabulous fun for everyone. At the Pirate's Nook we simply provided the venue!
The original formula was simple. The concept positive. The experience fun filled. Thus, the popularity of the famous Pirate's Nook.
